Air Break Manually Operated Star-Delta Motor Starter
Bentex - SKN Air Break Manually Operated star-Delta Motor starter type: SDM is ruggedly constructed, totally enclosed and is fixed in cast iron box for wall mounting. All incoming and outgoing terminals and conduit entries are easily accessible from top and bottom. An easy hinged cover, made of sheet metal completely encloses the system to ensure protection from dust and weather Each starter confirms to IS: 13947 Part 4 sec 1993

Installation

Assemble handle, which is packed separately with the action rod of the starter.
Mount the stater on a vertical plane.
Open cover and remove the cotton tape from the core. Clean throughly and check for any transit damage.
Check the free movement of action Rod and handle.
Make electrical connection as per wiring diagram ensuring that the correct size of cables are used and all the connection are tight.
Make sure that earthing of the starter is done properly.

Connection
Connect starter terminal A1 B1 C1 and A2 B2 C2 to the corresponding motor terminals. Connect starter terminals L1, L2, L3 to incoming supply lines.

Operation
First move handle to start (star) position. When motor picks up speed then turn handle to RUN (Delta) position. Press Red knob to stop motor.

Reverse Rotation
Interchange any two incoming supply lines.

Overload Protection
Overload Protection is provided by means of a triple pole thermal relay in all the starters. The tripping is Electrical three overload relays for complete protection against overload and single phasing. No volt coil to ensure positive action even with a fading voltage.
